Hinterland Aviation is one of North Queensland's most experienced air charter and airline service operators. As a part of their air charter services, they enable clients to minimise airport delays, control their itineraries and enjoy stress free air travel.

Established in 1981 as a charter operator mainly servicing the mining industry, Hinterland Aviation has since expanded to operate general air charter all around the country including to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.

They have a diverse range of clientele, providing air services to Bloomfield Lodge, as well as resorts at both Lizard Island and former Dunk Island Resort. Hinterland Aviation operates regular charters for the live-aboard dive vessel Spirit of Freedom, as well as Mike Ball Dive Expeditions, and services the fly-in, fly-out requirements for Kagara Zinc and Ergon Energy's Queensland state air charter needs.

Hinterland Aviation also services the Cooktown and Coen community by operating a direct regular passenger transport service between Cairns and both of the communities each week.
