FURTHER INFORMATION
Children: Apollo welcome children but baby and booster seats can only be fitted to their motorhome range. These seats cannot be fitted to campervans or four wheel drive campervans. Baby seats are suitable for children between six months and three years while booster seats are recommended for children between three and eight years.
Miscellaneous:
If cancelled 25 days prior to pick up - no fee. If cancelled seven to 24 days prior to pick up - 20 per cent of gross rental (minimum AUD 250.00). If cancelled less than seven days prior to pick up - 50 per cent of gross rental. If cancelled on the day of pick up or a no-show - 100 per cent of gross rental. There is no refund for late pick-up or early return of the vehicle.
On pick up of the vehicle a valid, non-provisional, State, Overseas or International licence is required to be presented in person by all people wishing to drive the vehicle. The licence must be in English language for staff to read. Each driver must have held a licence for at least two years. (this can be a combination of learners, provisional and full licence.) The minimum age to drive the vehicle is 21 years. The maximum age to drive the vehicle is 75 years.
Apollo Motorhome Holidays reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract, and does not entitle the renter to any refund. Rates do not include: optional liability reduction cover, security deposit (bond), two per cent stamp duty, optional extras (for example, camp chairs and tables).
Two wheel drive vehicles can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads or access roads. Four wheel drive vehicles can be driven on recognised unsealed tracks and may only travel to the following remote areas with the express written permission of Apollo: Any islands, Tasmania, Simpson Desert, Gunbarrel Highway, Cape York (north of Daintree River), Oodnadatta Track, Birdsville Track, Tanami Track, Gibb River Road, Warburton Road, Kalumburu, Bungle Bungles, Cape Leveque and any other remote area. No vehicle is permitted on the Canning stock-route, The Lost City in Litchfield Park and the Telegraph Road section of the road to Cape York.
Insurance: Apollo's rates include a Standard Liability of AUD 5,000.00. This is the maximum amount payable for any damage etcetera, caused to the vehicle regardless of cause. A Security Deposit (Bond) of AUD 5,000.00 will be taken. Payment is only accepted via credit card. The credit card will be processed, that is, the full amount will be debited to the client's account immediately. The Standard Liability can be reduced by taking one of the following reduction options:
Liability Reduction Option One: A Liability of AUD 2,500.00 applies. You can purchase this Option by paying Apollo AUD 20.00 (AUD 30.00 for four wheel drives) per day. The maximum amount payable by you for this Option is AUD 1,000.00. With this option a Bond of AUD 2,500.00 will be collected. Liability Reduction Option Two (Very Important Person Cover): A Liability of AUD 250.00 applies. You can purchase this Option by paying to Apollo AUD 35.00 per day. The maximum amount payable by you for this Option is AUD 1,750.00. With this Option a Bond of AUD 250.00 will be collected.
Cleaning Motorhomes: Vehicles must be returned in a reasonable state of cleanliness or you may be charged a cleaning fee of up to AUD 250.00 If applicable, the toilet and waste water tank must both be returned empty or a AUD150.00 cleaning fee will be charged to you. Four wheel drive vehicles must be free of mud on the outside. Cars: vehicles must be returned in a reasonable state of cleanliness or you may be charged a cleaning fee up to AUD 250.00
Traffic Infringements: Apollo reserve the right to charge the renter for any speeding or parking fines, traffic infringements, road toll fines, associated administration cost and/or accidents, including third party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle.
One Way Rentals. Cars: one way rentals are available between all depots. The fee for one way rentals in/out of Western Australian and the Northern Territory is currently AUD 200.00 (subject to change). Motorhomes: One way rentals are available between all depots subject to minimum rental periods. An additional charge of AUD 500.00 applies to all rentals picking up and dropping off (or both) in Broome. This is in addition to the one way fee if applicable.
Rental period: Cars: The minimum rental for all cars is three days. One way rentals have special minimum rental periods. Car rentals are based on 24-hour periods. Motorhomes: the minimum rental for all vehicles is five days. One way rentals have special minimum rental periods. Day of pick up and day of drop off are included as days of rental regardless of time of pick up and drop off. Hire inclusions: Car rates include: ten per cent Goods and Services Tax, unlimited kilometres per day, additional driver's fees, 24 hour nation-wide roadside assistance, standard liability of AUD 2,500.
Hire Inclusions: Campervan/Motorhome rates include: ten per cent Goods and Services Tax, unlimited kilometres, Apollo Welcome Pack, living equipment, maps and campground guides, additional driver's fees, 24 hour nation-wide roadside assistance, standard liability of AUD 5,000.00 Refundable Vehicle Bond: On pick up of the vehicle a Security Deposit (Bond) is payable by cash, travellers cheques or by an open signed credit card. (Bankcard, Visa or MasterCard) imprint with an authorisation obtained. Personal or company cheques are not accepted for the bond.
The bond is fully refundable when the vehicle is retuned to the correct nominated depot on time, is full of fuel and toilet emptied etcetera (please note that if the bond is given is cash or travellers cheques then the client's passport must be presented and the refund will be by our company cheque.) If there is damage to the vehicle on its return the Security Deposit (Bond) may be used to cover the cost of such damage depending on the Protection Cover chosen.
Equipment is available for hire when pre-booked. For cars: Camp chairs, camp table, baby/booster seat. Camping Kits: suitable for two people (including a three person tent, built-in ground sheet, sleeping bags with personal liners, sleeping mats, crockery and cutlery, pots and pans, gas cooker, salt and pepper, containers, tea towels, personal towels, torch, maps and camping ground directories) can be supplied on request.
