Description

The Port of Brisbane offers guest a range of unique experiences to taste, observe and explore. Visitors can join one of the daily 'Explorer Tours' and see how a busy port operates first-hand, or explore the interpretative and interactive displays. Enjoy a light meal, or coffee and cake as you take in the views of the unique wetland environment frequented by migratory birds. Or, if you are a bird lover, why not borrow the key from the ports 12 hectare Shorebird Roost to observe rare migratory shorebirds as they enjoy the ports unique wetland environment.

Children:
Children are welcome. Interactive and interpretive displays are available to assist children to understand about trade, and how a busy port operates. Tours are available for school groups.

Disabled:
Access to the Visitors Centre is available for guests with a disability. Tour groups requiring disabled bus access are required to provide their own bus, the tour guide provided at no cost.

Tariff Information:
A family rate is available for two adults and two children for AUD27.00.

How To Get There:
The Visitors' Centre is located on Whimbrel Street, off Lucinda Drive. The main port complex is about 30 - 40 minutes drive from the central business district and 15 minutes from the Brisbane Airport. No public transport available.

Opening Hours:
Open Monday to Friday between 9.30 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Closed weekends and public holidays. Lunch served between 11.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. and coffee and cake during opening hours.


Explorer Tour

On this fascinating land bus tour you'll see the daily activities of the port, and learn from your tour guide how an efficient and sustainable port operates, as well as how PBPL protects the environmental values of the area. See towering cranes, learn how everyday items are imported and exported throughout the world, and gain an appreciation of the important role the port plays in the global economy. Bookings are encouraged.
