Departure Point
Free pickup from Nomads Backpackers situated at Noosa Junction at the roundabout of Noosa Drive and Sunshine Beach Road. Greet and meet with Codie at the pergola next to reception at 10.25 a.m.
If self driving:
From the roundabout next to Tewantin State School on Poinciana Avenue, Boreen Point is signposted. Once in Boreen Point pass the Apollonian Hotel on the right and turn right on Vista Street. As you see the lake prepare using the U-Turn facilitate turn into the single lane road towards the camping ground. Travel slowly through the camping ground, follow dirt track for 50 metres to the day use area, Duns Beach.
General Comments
Students are in the water within 25 minutes flying full size kites practising manoeuvres with professional supervision. There is One2one radio contact at all times. All equipment is supplied (latest Ozone kites). Most students are competent and autonomous within six to eight hours with IKO level two instructor. Complete kite packages are available - kite, board, harness. These are tailored to the individual's weight and size. If purchased then the student becomes a VIP KITEOZ club member. Lessons take place every day the wind is above 10 knots at Lake Cootharaba 20 minutes north of Noosa or Blue Lagoon. Also Coconut Beach,Bowen Whitsunday Coast, Queensland.
