Description

Cowboy Up Trail Riding offers you the experience to ride the 'Cowboy Way' on their friendly good natured Quarter Horses. In comfortable western saddles, you will have a relaxing ride through a working cattle property. Trails will take you through picturesque country where wallabies, wild deer and native birdlife thrive. From rolling hills you will witness magnificent views of surrounding mountains and farmland.

All rides are fully guided and you can choose from a one hour ride, two hour ride (includes coffee and cake), half day cattle muster or half day ride (includes light lunch). One of their specialities is the Sunset Ride which takes a couple or party of friends on a 45 minute ride then leaves them alone, with a bottle of sparkling wine and a cheese platter, to enjoy the sunset on their beautiful property before being picked up by vehicle and taken back to the homestead. A great way to propose or celebrate your anniversary!

Your hosts, Peter and Gill Gould have over 30 years experience with horses and are great teachers - particularly if you haven't ridden before or if you haven't ridden for a long time.

Trail rides are for five years and over. Under fives are able to be led by a guide for a 15 minute ride.

How To Get There:
Cowboy Up Trail Riding is situated at 'Lilyvale', 160 Rocky Gully Road, Emu Creek on Queensland's Darling Downs. Following the New England Highway, Cowboy Up is 25 kilometres north of Crows Nest, Queensland, and 22 kilometres south of Cooyar. They are an easy one hour drive from Toowoomba and Kingaroy.

One Hour Trail Ride

The ride meanders across property pastures, shaded dry creek gullies and rolling hills. There are nice flats for trotting and cantering if you choose or you can take your time at a leisurely walk.

Two Hour Ride

The two hour ride covers more of the property, with views of surrounding mountains and farmland with climbs to a high ridge for those more experienced riders.

This relaxing ride is recommended for beginners or experienced riders. A cup of coffee or tea and a piece of cake is included at the end of the ride.

Half Day Trail Ride

Heading off from the property, the ride travels along the old stock route and winds across the top of rolling hills down to the old Emu Creek Hall for a light lunch before returning. Riders can be returned by vehicle if they prefer.

Sunset Getaway Ride

One of their specialities is the Sunset Ride which takes a couple or party of friends on a one hour ride, then leaves them at a fire place overlooking the horizon with a bottle of sparkling wine and a cheese platter, to enjoy the sunset on the beautiful property before being picked up by vehicle and taken back to the homestead. A great way to propose or celebrate your anniversary or birthday!

Half Day Cattle Muster

Riding out to the paddock, the cattle are gathered and driven back to the cattle yards to be sorted and National Livestock tags checked. A light lunch is had before returning the cattle to their designated paddock.
