Conservation Volunteers has been making a real difference to the unique natural heritage of Far North Queensland. Blessed with two world heritage sites on the doorstep - the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics - they work to preserve, conserve and rehabilitate specific habitats under threat or in need of some tender loving care.
... moreVolunteers participate in tree planting, site preparation, wildlife and vegetation surveys, native plant propagation, seed collection and removal and control of invasive weeds - whilst gaining access to some spectacular scenery and gaining the satisfaction of contributing to wildlife corridors that enhance survival of some rare and endangered animals such as the Cassowary and Tree Kangaroos.
