Children aged from three to 13 years are welcome. A stand is available to assist them see over the edge of the balloon basket.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations require 48 hours notice, allowing management to re-book vacant places. "No shows" on the flight morning and late cancellations will be charged for. As safety is first priority and ballooning is a weather dependent activity, flights may sometimes have to be cancelled due to unsuitable weather. In such an event a full refund is given and no cancellation fees apply. Customers are encouraged to reschedule their flight if possible.
Entity Restrictions
Please note that the regulations of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority prohibit the carriage of disabled persons and infants under three years of age in a balloon. If in doubt, please discuss your needs with Balloon Down Under.
Pets are not allowed.
General Comments
As the dawn light slowly creeps across the Gold Coast you will experience the oldest and most romantic form of aviation in the world.
You can assist the pilot and crew to prepare the balloon for flight. Once aboard the wicker basket, your magical flight begins. The launch is so gentle you will not even realise you have left the ground. The peace and gentleness of ballooning will surprise you and the views are outstanding. This is the most amazing way to see the marvellous Gold Coast area.
You are about to experience the romance and adventure of the oldest form of flight, in a hot air balloon. To make your experience enjoyable and memorable, here are some helpful hints.
Balloons only fly once a day, just after sunrise when the breezes are at their calmest, early morning starts are essential. Casual clothing is suggested, and closed toed shoes are a good idea as sometimes the balloon will launch and land in a paddock with long wet grass. It is no colder up in the air than it is when you walk out of your front door, so just wear what you are warm and comfortable in. Layers are a good idea as it gets warmer as the morning
proceeds. Don't forget sunglasses, camera, and a hat if needed.
After the flight and balloon pack-up, it is off to Chelo's Restaurant for a lovely champagne, full buffet breakfast. The story of the history of ballooning and why champagne is part of ballooning is followed by the presentation of your personal Flight Certificate; the ceremony will be enjoyed by all. In flight photos and others of the morning are available for purchase on CD.
Total tour time is approximately four, to four and a half hours.
How To Get There
Local passengers for the balloon flight will be met at the RACV Royal Pines Resort, Ross Street, Benowa, in the hotel lobby. There is ample undercover car parking available. From the M1 Motorway take Exit 71, at Nerang. At the top of the exit turn into Nerang-Broadbeach Road, heading towards Broadbeach. Approximately three kilometres along Nerang-Broadbeach Road you will turn left into Ross Street. The entry to RACV Royal Pines Resort is on the left. Follow the signs to the hotel car parking. From the underground car park take the lift to the Resort lobby. That is where they will meet you at the time advised at the time of making your booking.
Gold Coast visitors can use the complimentary transfer service to and from their hotel.

Office hours are 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. each day. Bookings can be made by telephone up to 8.00 p.m. of the evening prior to the flight, and by email or fax by 4.00 p.m. the day prior to the flight. Email and fax bookings should be confirmed by telephone.
Packages, VIP tours and family rates are available, please contact the operator for details.
Up to 250 conference attendees can be catered for per morning flight, as well as smaller meeting groups of 10 or more. Please contact Balloon Down Under to discuss your requirements and details so a special package can be tailored to the needs of the group.
Deluxe Gold Coast Balloon Flight
Your ballooning adventure begins just before sunrise, when the winds are gentle. You will be taken to the balloon launch site selected by the pilot that morning based on the wind direction and speed. After a welcoming tea/coffee/biscuits it's all aboard for your magical flight into the skies. The launch is so gentle you will hardly realise you have left the ground. The balloon floats with the breezes approximately 1,000 feet above the Gold Coast - the views are amazing and the experience is incredible.
Your pilot guides the balloon to its landing site and after pack up you all have a bottle of cool water. Then it's off to the RACV Royal Pines Resort Restaurant for a lovely champagne breakfast. The memories will last forever.
