Departing Airlie Beach, enjoy an eco tour of this world famous wonderland by snorkelling and swimming amongst the fringing coral reefs of the Whitsunday Islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Spend time ashore including Whitehaven Beach where you can enjoy beachcombing and bushwalks learning about the exceptional biodiversity of the area with your experienced crew.

How To Get There
Check-In information - please check in between 11.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. on the day prior to your departure (Level 2/293 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach). Come to their sailing office where the staff will provide you with a pre-departure briefing. This brief will go through the things you need to do before joining the yacht. The office is easy to locate, in the main street of Airlie Beach just above Brumby's Bakery.
Derwent Hunter Day Sail
Tall Ship Day Sailing on board the Australian legend Derwent Hunter. Whitsunday Islands, Great Barrier Reef. Help sail, snorkel fringing reefs,explore coral atolls of Langford Reef and Bali Hai. Multi award winning for adventure and eco tourism. Departs Airlie Beach.
Designed and built in Tasmania in 1946 by revered shipwright, Walter Wilson, The Hunter is a prime example of excellence in design. Blue Gum, Tassie Oak, Celery Top and Huon Pine were cut and dragged by bullock train to the slipway at Port Cygnet where they were worked by hand by a team of just four shipwrights over a period of 18 months. The result was one of the finest sailing trade vessels ever to be launched in Australia, her life story a fascinating tale of intrigue and adventure. When she arrived in the Whitsundays in 1993, the Derwent Hunter was the largest traditional timber sailing vessel in the Whitsundays and is still arguably, the 'Queen of the Fleet'.
