For a trip you will never forget, jump aboard the pink LARC, an amphibious craft that will take you for a ride across deserted sandy beaches and pristine estuaries as you make your way to the isolated Bustard Head Lighthouse located within Eurimbula National Park. ... moreThe LARC! climbs out of the water and up to Queensland's first coastal light - Bustard Head. Enjoy a guided tour through the light keepers cottages, which have been restored and turned into a museum. And on the way home, you can experience the thrill of sand boarding down the towering dunes of Middle Island. The LARC's (Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo Vessels) are named in honour of Sir Joseph Banks and Dr Daniel Carl Solander, the two eminent botanists who accompanied Lieutenant James Cook aboard the Endeavour on their voyage of discovery. Day Trip includes morning tea, lunch and an Aussie Billy tea.

Children are welcome. Children of all ages are well entertained! Children under the age of 15 are required to be accompanied by an adult. No charge for children under five years old.

There is access for guests with a disability. The crew will assist guests to help make their day comfortable - but the LARC! is not equipped for wheelchairs.
How To Get There
The Seventeen Seventy Marina is located in Seventeen Seventy on Captain Cook Drive six kilometres from Agnes Waters.
Driving to Seventeen Seventy:
From the South - travelling on the Bruce Highway from Brisbane, take the turn off to the left to Bundaberg just after Apple Tree Creek. Drive through Bundaberg and take the turn to the left at the Visitors Information Centre, and then follow the signs to Seventeen Seventy and Agnes Water, approximately 120 kilometres from Bundaberg.
From the north- travelling on the Bruce Highway, turn left at Miriam Vale (just south of Gladstone) and then follow the signs to Seventeen Seventy and Agnes Water.

Gladstone - one and a half hours, Bundaberg - one and a half hours, Rockhampton - two and a half hours, Hervey Bay - three hours, Brisbane - six hours, Airlie Beach - eight hours.

LARC! Afternoon Cruise
As the sun approaches the horizon signalling the end of another beautiful day, experience the peaceful solitude and changing moods of their tropical paradise. This one hour cruise takes in the magic of Round Hill Creek and Eurimbula National Park with its wildlife and magnificent views of Round Hill Head and the coastline.

LARC! Sandboarding Safari
At 1770 board the LARC, the ultimate four wheel drive beach buggy! Your destination for the day is Middle Island, a sand island within Bustard Bay, and the only way to get there is on board this big pink boat with wheels.
Travelling to this island of towering sand dunes, the LARC must first cross three creeks and travel along sandy beaches of Eurimbula National Park. On arrival at Middle Island you will be greeted with the sight of 30 metre high dunes, dropping straight into the water.
Climb the dune, take a moment to enjoy the mesmerising views across land and sea, then hold on to your board for an exhilarating zoom down the sand hill! If you're going fast enough, you'll zoom out into the water!

The 2 hour LARC + Lunch! Tour travels along the coastline of Eurimbula National Park and pauses for a picnic lunch amidst the magnificent views of Round Hill Head and Bustard Bay.
Our unique amphibious LARC vessels are an ideal craft to enjoy cool breezes and amazing views whilst the surrounding environment becomes incredibly accessible!
Our experienced skipper will relay details on the history of the area and you will tour the coastline of the Town of 1770, the Birthplace of Queensland.
