Description

Cairns Wildlife Dome is a spectacular all weather wildlife exhibit encased by a 20 metre high glass dome on the rooftop of the Reef Hotel Casino. Situated in the heart of Cairns, approximately 60 species of animals are able to wander and fly freely throughout the enclosure that replicates their natural environment.

Pathways and boardwalks entwine through the enclosure allowing guests to view animals such as rainforest reptiles and frogs, turtles, pademelons and an abundance of colorful birdlife.

Visitors are able to see a huge saltwater crocodile, in North Queensland's first underwater viewing of a crocodile. Or by making a small donation towards our animal rescue fund, guests can interact with our koalas up close. Guided tours and animal presentations take place throughout the day, providing an interactive learning experience about rainforest wildlife and superb photo opportunities.

Cuddle a koala in their koala handling area, cuddle a koala and receive a photo as a souvenir of your experience (at an extra cost).

The facility provides a unique enhancement to incentive and conference programs with exclusive cocktail functions incorporating close animal interaction in a rainforest setting, adjacent to the Cairns Convention Centre and the major five star hotels.

Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times.

Disabled:
Wheelchair access and ramps provided. Assistance may be required where necessary.

Children:
Curriculum is available at a number of levels and is suitable for students where English is a second language. Upon completion of the program students receive a certificate of achievement and souvenir workbook.

Disabled Facilities:
Lift access is available to the property. Wheelchair access and ramps are provided to and within the Cairns Rainforest Dome. Assistance may be required where necessary.

How To Get There:
Cairns Wildlife Dome is situated on top of the Reef Hotel Casino, corner of Wharf and Abbott Streets in the heart of Cairns. Entry via the lifts in the foyer of the Casino.
