Tech Dive Academy's Scuba Training School is the only PADI five-star IDC centre based in Port Douglas.

They offer first class diver training on the Great Barrier - PADI recreational dive instruction and TDI, IANTD, DSAT and Tec Rec Technical Dive programmes - open water to instructor level, speciality courses, decompression procedures, extended range, essentials programme, and a range of side-mount and cavern courses. With over 45 dive sites locally to choose from, the diving is some of the best in the world.

PADI Open Water Course (Learn to Dive)

All their training is Personalised Private training - focussed on you! Start any day you like. They take you on your first step to receiving your full PADI certificate. There is no better place to start diving than the Great Barrier Reef! This course will take you through the theory and skills of diving enabling you to start your adventures in diving. Not only do you gain the internationally recognized PADI Open Water Diver Certification, but you'll also do six dives on three different sites each ocean day and see creatures that will amaze you! After this four day course you will be qualified to dive to a maximum of 18 metres (60 feet). Shorten your course to three days by completing your theory with elearning - ask them how.

This is a quick and easy program designed especially for those a little short on time! The PADI Scuba Diver program is a pre-entry level certification that is perfect for people who only plan to dive a couple of times a year. PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver helps you become a more confident, experienced diver. Complete five specialty, two of which include learning about Navigation and enjoy your first Deep Dive to a maximum depth of 30 metres (100 feet). Other specialty areas to choose from include Underwater Photography, Drift Dive, Underwater Naturalist, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Boat, Multi Level, Search and Recovery and AWARE Fish ID. This is a two day course that includes six dives.

PADI Master Scuba Diver

Master Scuba Diver is the highest level that can be reach in PADI Recreational diving. The PADI Master Scuba Diver rating denotes superior achievement and proficiency in dive skills, experience and underwater activities. PADI Rescue Diver

This course is for Advanced Divers with DAN or Emergency First Response (EFR). PADI Emergency First Response (First Aid)

Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care is a comprehensive program based on professional instructional design and educational protocols, as well as International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) standards. The program is composed of two core modules and provides extensive instruction in CPR and First Aid, in addition to providing Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and optional emergency oxygen use training. This is a workplace approved programme.

Guided Diving for Certified Divers on the Great Barrier Reef

Each day they choose three dive sites from a selection of over 45 sites they have available - based on the weather, tides and diving conditions to give you the best experience possible on the outer reef.

With this option you will be diving with a dive guide (typical maximum depth is 18 to 20 metres) in groups typically no larger than six to eight divers.
