Description
Byfield's parks and forests form the southern-most tip of one of the largest undeveloped regions on Australia's east coast. Byfield National Park boasts outstanding coastal scenery and diverse plant communities. Behind the foreshore, sand dunes cloaked with heath, woodland and forest dominate the landscape. Massive parabolic dunes, the oldest reaching five-six kilometres inland, occupy most of the southern part.
At the southern end of Nine Mile Beach, Queen Mary track passes through shady swales and over sandy foredunes to the base of Byfield's largest active sandblow, the Queen Mary. A walk to the active front will reward visitors with scenic inland views.

How To Get There:Byfield National Park is 12 kilometres past Water Park Creek via Byfield State Forest. The 15 kilometre soft sand track from the park boundary to Nine Mile Beach requires a four-wheel-drive and sand driving experience.
Queen Mary is at the southern end of Nine Mile Beach, 9.9 kilometres south of Nine Mile Access Track.
The walking track is marked from the beach to the base of the sand blow only.
Visit during the cooler parts of the day and at low tide to avoid stranding on the beach. Avoid periods after heavy rain as vehicle access tracks may be cut by flooded creeks.
