The Portside Lamplight Bazaar is held in the historic Portside Precinct, Wharf Street on the Saturday evening of the last weekend of the month. Costumed characters, live music and entertainment, food, craft barrows and quirky tours help turn back the clock to when Maryborough was one of Australia's largest and busiest ports.
Old fashioned guides will take people on a Night Watchman tour, spinning yarns about sailors, smugglers, brothels and opium dens. Exhibits will come alive on a Night at the Museum tour of the Maryborough Military Museum. To quench your thirst for history, join the Portside Pub Tour and soak up amazing pub architecture and hear tall tales of the past.
Gatakers Artspace will introduce a series of musical and artistic performances on Saturday's to coincide with the Lamplight Bazaar.
The Portside Lamplight Bazaar is part of the Weekend with Mary monthly event for both visitors and local residents.
