Opera Underground! Literally! The Underground Opera Company is pleased to announce their latest concerts at The Capricorn Caves, Rockhampton. The Cathedral is the show-piece of the Capricorn Caves and will provide the most unique, intimate opera and light opera concert you will have ever experienced, with some of the best voices you will have heard, in an environment you may never have seen.

The Underground Opera Company was formed to provide regional centres of Australia with professional concerts in extraordinary environments, namely underground mines, tunnels and caves. This year the talents of National and International performers will travel to Rockhampton.

    Audience from as far away as Perth Western Australia have travelled to see Opera Underground and commented "If you're not a fan of operatic music this will convert you. This is opera in the raw. Four spectacular voices, an unbelievable, intimate venue, pure joy! I cannot recommend this highly enough. Do not miss this when it comes your way!!" and "The best Opera I have ever heard!".

    The Capricorn Caves presents the audience with one of the most unique and intimate opera experiences of their lives as you venture into the naturally formed "Cathedral". The acoustics are incredible. All audience members will be accompanied to the performance venues by informative staff members. Make the occasion as formal or as casual as you like but sensible footwear is recommended.
    This is an opportunity to experience artists at the top of their field with no amplification, effects, bells or whistles; just pure voices resonating within these magnificent natural structures.

    How To Get There:
    The Capricorn Caves are located 23 kilometres north of Rockhampton. Turn into the township of The Caves, cross the railway line and first right after the pub. Capricorn Caves is three kilometres from the school on the right hand side.
