Description
This delightful walk takes you through some of the best rainforest in Brisbane Forest Park. The rainforest is more varied here, with strangler figs, buttressed trees, stinging trees and large rainforest trees such as white booyong.
After walking for about 500 metres you will come to a clearing beside the road - Western Window - with a magnificent view over the scenic rim of mountains to the west. You can see Cunningham's Gap and Mount Barney on a clear day. Walk down some steps and you will reach a junction.

The track takes about three hours to complete and is eight kilometres return. The first part of the track is parallel to the road. Watch your step, the track can be narrow. Brisbane Forest Park Headquarters is located at 60 Mount Nebo Road, just 20-30 minutes from central Brisbane via Waterworks Road. Maiala can be reached by Mount Nebo Road or Samford-Mount Glorious Road and is just over one hour's drive from central Brisbane.
