Description

Taka operates extended liveaboard dive trips of four, five and seven days to remote regions of Australia's Northern Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea.

Taka is a 30 metre luxury purpose-built dive vessel with a choice of cabins from Budget Quad share to their luxurious Stateroom. The Great Barrier Reef is 2,300 kilometres of living coral, one of the natural wonders of the world.

Dive with Giant Potato Cod at the famous Cod Hole and view a huge variety of marine species including Manta Rays, Giant Australian Cuttlefish, Loggerhead and Green Turtles, Moray Eels, Lionfish and the best Marine life the Great Barrier Reef has to offer.

Adventure diving at Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea with amazing drop-offs, 30 metre plus visibility and unbelievable shark action! Frequent visitors include Grey Reef Sharks or Grey Whalers, Black Tip Reef Sharks, White Tip Reef Sharks, Oceanic Silver Tip sharks and the occasional Hammerhead.

Departure Details:
Departs Trinity Wharf Cairns, although Taka prefers clients to meet at the Taka Dive shop between 3:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on the day of departure for a complimentary transfer to the boat via bus.

Further Details:
In case of extreme weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances, Taka Dive reserves the right to adjust or cancel the standard itinerary. Individual travel insurance is recommended. Certain medical conditions or medications can preclude people from diving, please contact Taka Dive for more information.

Tariff Information:
Complimentary pick-up and drop offs available. There is a tariff discount for snorkellers of AUD100.00. Please contact Taka Dive for more information. There are pay on board charges for the Environmental Management of the Great Barrier Reef and a fuel and port levy is also payable onboard.

Cancellation Information:
20 per cent cancellation fee 30 days or more prior to departure. 50 per cent cancellation fee if within 30 days prior to departure. 100 per cent cancellation fee within 14 days prior to departure. Some schedules subject to change without notice.

Cod Hole and Northern Great Barrier Reef - 4 Days/3 Nights

Taka will offer you the best excursions to 'The Cod Hole' and the Northern Great Barrier Reef. Experience the magic of diving with the 'Giant Potato Cod' at the Cod Hole and visit some truly amazing sites on the Ribbon Reefs, within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Departs Cairns on the Tuesday evening with a leisurely cruise overnight, to wake up at the fantastic 'Cod Hole'. From there you will experience three full days of diving with a minimum of ten dives over the trip. On this trip we regularly encounter huge schools of pelagic fish, manta rays, giant Australian cuttlefish, loggerhead and green turtles, moray eels, red flame file shell, lionfish, various nudibranchs as well as the magnificent Giant Potato Cod.

Cod Hole and Coral Sea Tour (Osprey Reef) - 5 Days/4 Nights

Osprey reef in the Coral Sea is one of the most spectacular dive sites in the world. Offering a diverse range of shark life all year round and pristine soft corals unlike anything you have ever seen before.

Bob Halstead who was inducted into the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame recently said ""I'm thinking; this is one of the best shark dives I have done in 41 years"". You will also experience the magic of diving with the 'Giant Potato Cod' at the Cod Hole and visit some truly amazing sites up and down the Ribbons Reefs, located within the World Heritage Listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Seven Day Back-to-Back Tour

This tour is a combination of the four day/three night tour to the Cod Hole and Northern Great Barrier Reef, as well as the five day/four night tour to the Cod Hole and Osprey Reef located in the Coral Sea.

During the seven day trip you will have the opportunity to experience 24 dives at some of the world's most renowned dive sites. You will enjoy your seven days diving at the world famous ""Cod Hole"", pristine ""osprey Reef"" and the beautifully diverse ""Ribbon Reefs"".
