Spion Kop Track is located on South Molle Island within Molle Islands National Park. Offering spectacular views, this track traverses rainforest, grassland and open eucalypt forest to lookouts over the resort and Whitsunday Passage. This track also passes an ancient Ngaro stone quarry, an area of shattered rock high on the hillside and spilling toward the sea. Spion Kop track can be accessed two ways: a 4.2 kilometre one-way walk from Sandy Bay (two hours walking time); or a 2.35 kilometre one-way walk from Bauer Bay (one hour walking time). The track is of a moderate grade.
One of the most spectacular parts of this walk are the views not only from the saddle of the mountain but from the lookout on Spion Kop. From the lookout you can take in spectacular views of Hook, Whitsunday, Hamilton, Dent, Pine, Planton and Long Islands to the east.... less
