Bush camp at one of several secluded camp sites. Go birdwatching around waterlily-covered lagoons and forest-fringed riverbanks. Go spotlighting in the rainforest to see the common spotted cuscus. Drive to the Old Archer Crossing, the historical site of the main access to northern Cape York Peninsula. Ride mountain bikes or trail bikes or drive your 4WD through the park's network of internal roads. Try your luck fishing in the park's many creeks and lagoons. How To Get There
Access to the national park from Cairns is via the Peninsula Developmental Road, through Coen to the Rokeby Road turn-off. Average travelling times are Cairns to Coen—8 to 10 hours, Coen to Rokeby Road—30 minutes and Rokeby Road to tracks leading to camp sites—1.5 to 2 hours. From the Rokeby Road turn-off it is 74 kilometres to the Coen River section, 78 kilometres to the Langi section and 125 kilometres to the Archer Bend section of the park. Roads into and on the park are suited to 4WD vehicles only.
