Outback at Isa is the hub of Tourism in North West Queensland. Your one stop shop to explore what the region has to offer. They are an award winning visitor information centre, and run Hard Time Underground Mine Tours, Riversleigh Fossil Centre, The Isa Experience, and The Outback Park and Art Gallery.
The Hard Times Mine is a unique underground mining experience in a mine built and operated by real miners that provides a rare opportunity to get up close and experience first hand the daily life and workings of an underground mine.
The Isa Experience Gallery is an interactive, multi-media gallery interpreting the region's fascinating cultural, indigenous, pioneering and mining heritage.
The Riversleigh Fossil Centre interprets the fossils extracted from the nearby World-heritage Riversleigh fossil fields.
Themed and designed to showcase the endemic plants of the region, Outback Park is a two hectare landscaped park.
Outback at Isa has the latest information on roads and weather, plus advice on where to go when starting your outback journey. There are internet facilities, a café serving coffee plus the Explorers Gift Shop.

Children:
Children are welcome to enjoy the facilities at Outback at Isa. However, the Hard Times Underground Mine Tour is not available to children under seven years of age. Children under seven years may visit all other facilities, including the Isa Experience, Outback Park, Amphitheatre, Outback Cafe and Riversleigh Fossil Centre. Change rooms and showers are available in the Isa Experience and Outback at Isa also has nursing facilities. Outback At Isa asks that all children are accompanied and supervised by an adult while visiting. Special arrangements can be made for school groups. Please contact Outback at Isa to discuss requirements.
Disabled Facilities:
Outback at Isa offers a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. These facilities include wheelchair access, ramps and a disabled lift. Disabled car parking is available, and their staff will provide assistance as required. Please contact them prior to arrival to discuss any specific requirements. Disabled change rooms are available at the Riversleigh Fossil Centre, a part of Outback at Isa.
Restrictions:
Participants in the Underground Tour must be older than seven years of age and accompanied by an adult. Some areas are not accessible by wheelchairs. Video recorders and Cameras are not permitted on the Hard Times Underground Mine Tour or in the theatrette.
Further Details:
Hard Times Mine Tours operate daily. Tours are two and a half hours in duration and run between 8.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. Bookings are essential.

Outback at Isa is situated in the heart of Mount Isa, 500 metres from Town Centre on 19 Marian Street.

Tariff Information:
Outback at Isa offers special rates for concessions, children, school groups and families. Proof of concession must be supplied for any concession rates. Children are ages from five to 17 years and the Hard Times Underground Mine Tour is not available to children under seven years. School groups are not limited in size, however the Hard Times Underground Mine Tours take a maximum of 18 people. Tour times may vary seasonally. Each group of children must be accompanied by at least one adult in addition to the guide.
