Other Information

Children:
Families with children are warmly welcomed across all the accommodation styles.

Further Details:
Nature walks: They have designed a number of self-guided walks you can follow during your stay. There are also a variety of Eco and guided walks available to take part in, upon request from the Lodge.
Adventure activities: They have a comprehensive list of adventure activities led by fully qualified and experienced leaders. Further activity details and events can be found on the operator's website. Current activities are on the office blackboard. Please book early to avoid disappointment, as participant numbers are limited.

Accommodation: They offer self contained homesteads and cabins, deluxe camper trailers and camping (shared amenities). By choosing to bring your own linen, you will keep your costs down. Linen hire is available for AUD15.00 per person. They request no smoking in the buildings. Should you find any maintenance/repairs required, please let the operators know. Check-out time is 10.00 a.m.
Water: Please keep usage to a minimum. They only water supply is ground water, and extreme drought conditions are never far away. This water is treated and is safe for drinking.
Fires: When lighting a fire, use only the fireplaces provided. They sell bundled hardwood for AUD10.00. AUD1.00 of this is directed to onsite conservation and sustainability projects.

Rubbish: General waste, green waste, and recycling bins are provided to minimise rubbish going to landfill. Please separate your waste as directed on the bins, and place all green waste unbagged in marked wheelie bins as this will be immediately used in the "compost cake". For guests staying in buildings, compost can be placed in 'compost bins', which will be collected after your stay and feed to the chickens.
Telephone: The area has CDMA and Next G mobile phone coverage only. They do not have a public phone. They business phone can be used if necessary for an emergency. They sell AUD10.00 phonecards for this purpose.
Local knowledge: Innes and Tracey are always happy to share local knowledge on the National Park, walks, flora and fauna with guests - just ask!

Dairy visit: Visit a working dairy farm during milking times, or an alpaca farm. Book through the operator's office. Charges apply.
Wild life: They ask you to resist from feeding the native wildlife. It can be detrimental to their health and can interrupt their natural feeding patterns. Please ensure that all your foodstuffs are kept inside, out of the reach of possums, bandicoots, currawongs, crows, and goannas. Other than for the purchase of firewood, the operators would appreciate it if you walked around the grounds, and up to the office. This causes the least amount of road dust, and, by walking, you are more likely to see the red-necked wallabies and observe the birds.
Peace and quiet: The operators know this is important to your retreat. They request all guests respect each other's privacy by keeping noise to a minimum, particularly loud music. They have a night-time curfew of 10.00p.m.

How To Get There:
After coming from Brisbane or the Gold Coast via Beaudesert, follow the Mount Lindesay Highway south to Rathdowney. Just after the Rathdowney township, turn right into the Boonah-Rathdowney Road, and follow this for about 10 minutes. Take the first left onto Upper Logan Road. This turn is well marked, and has a brown sign indicating Mt Barney Lodge as well. Follow Upper Logan Road for about 13 kilometres, including a small section of well graded dirt at the end. There are signs at every intersection along Upper Logan Road indicating the way to Mt Barney Lodge.
