Masons Walks aim to keep your experience as realistic as possible; the walks go right in the rainforest on real jungle trails. Masons cater to those who want to not only walk in the forest, but learn a few of its secrets as well. Their local guides show the way, share knowledge and point out wildlife and other

interesting features.

Experience the thrill of searching for crocodiles and other wildlife at night on the night walks, or be enthralled by your guide's easy to understand commentary about the ancient and spectacular rainforest on a daytime guided walk. Walks are conducted in amazing rainforest adjoining the Daintree National Park. The forest features big-buttressed trees, and crystal clear Myall Creek tumbling over granite boulders.

Mason's Four Wheel Drive Tours are conducted in small seven seat Four Wheel Drive vehicles on the famous Bloomfield Track. All tours include a guided walk with Aboriginal Elders at Bloomfield Falls.

The Half Day Four Wheel Drive Tour is a great way of experiencing the best of the Bloomfield Track, while the Full Day Cooktown Tour showcases the historic township where James Cook repaired the Endeavour. Personalised tours are also available.

Tour Access:
Free pick up and transport to the tracks are available from Cape Tribulation Resorts, for those staying as far south as Port Douglas or Cairns, the Two Hour Walk is ideal and can easily be included in a day visit.

Children:
Day walks-Children of all ages are taken, but those unable to walk the entire distance will need to be carried by their parents.
Night walks-No child rates, and no children under seven years of age will be taken.
Half Day Four Wheel Drive Tours-One infant per vehicle can be taken, however they must sit in the baby seat provided.
Full Day Four Wheel Drive Tours-These are not recommended tours for children under four years of age.

Cancellation Information:
Mason's Tours are only confirmed if you have made payment. If you have not made or arranged payment the tour is not confirmed.
Due to the allocation of vehicles and guides they have penalties if tours are cancelled close to the time of departure. The penalties may also apply in cases of sudden injury or illness. Mason's Tours recommend travel insurance.
If cancelling with 48 hours or more notice they will offer a full refund. If cancelling with 48 - 24 hours notice, they will offer a 50 per cent refund only. With 24 hours or less notice of cancellation there is no refund. Where bookings are made through a third party, and the conditions of that party differ from theirs, the most stringent condition shall apply. Where agents take an administration fee during refunds, the refund amount specified in their conditions will be reduced by such a fee.
Mason's Tours do not offer refunds where participants arrive for a tour without footwear, or appropriate clothing; participants are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and are refused service; participants are late for the tour; participants are not at the location specified on their voucher or booking material; or participants are not physically able to complete the tour safely (please ask when booking).

Departure Details:
Guided walks depart from all points at Cape Tribulation, between Cape Tribulation Resort and Spa and Cape Trib Beach House. Four Wheel Drive Safaris depart from all points north of and including Cow Bay and from Cape Tribulation.

Disabled Facilities:
Disabled toilet available at the base at Cape Tribulation, but not on most tours, except Cooktown.
Participants in the walks must have a good sense of balance, good vision and free leg movement. They must be fit enough to walk three to five kilometres over uneven ground.
Persons with a disability are welcome on the Four Wheel Drive Tours, however, some sites may be inaccessible depending on the disability. Please contact the operator for advice on an individual basis.

Further Details:
All participants in the guided walks must have covered footwear. They must have free leg movement, good balance and be fit enough to walk three to five kilometres over uneven ground.
Carry on luggage is restricted to one very small day pack per person on the Four Wheel Drive Safaris.

Alternative itinerary may be offered from November to April, depending on weather conditions for The Half Day Waterfall Four Wheel Drive Safari. The Full Day Cooktown Four Wheel Drive Safari may not be possible from November to March due to road conditions.

Guided walks-free pickup is provided at Cape Tribulation, from Cape Trib Beach House to Cape Tribulation Resort and Spa. Please contact the operator for full details.

How To Get There:
Masons Tours are located about 140 kilometres north of Cairns. To get to them you travel north past Port Douglas turnoff, through the town of Mossman, and you make a right turn for Cape Tribulation about eight kilometres before Daintree Village, to take you to the Daintree Ferry. After crossing the Daintree Ferry (hours 6.00 a.m. until midnight) they are 34 kilometres further north, midway between Cape Tribulation Resort and Spa, and PKs Jungle Village. Look for the red roof on the left and the Information centre and Shop after Myall Creek. The driveway number (found on little yellow posts) is 3781.

The Half Day Interpretive Walk

Join Mason's local guides for an enjoyable, informative walk on private real jungle trails. See strange, ancient and dangerous plants and swim in beautiful Myall Creek. The tour includes home made cookies and Daintree Tea. Mason's half day Interpretive Walk allows you to experience real jungle at a relaxed pace away from the crowds. An entertaining commentary is given, and our guides welcome questions. You will see large buttressed trees in untouched

rainforest, and be able to touch, smell and maybe even taste! The guides, who have a passion for 'their' rainforest, appreciate your interest and will make sure your walk in the jungle is a memorable experience.

The Two and a Half Hour Croc Spotting Nightwalk

Imagine walking through deep jungle, armed with a flashlight, searching for the elusive wildlife, including Crocodiles. With Mason's Tours at Cape Tribulation, you can do this and more. Seeing the Daintree Rainforest is special, but by night it is unforgettable. Maybe see a Boyd's Dragon eying you

from its tree trunk hideout, or a striped possum foraging on a fan palm. With the lights out, luminous fungi and fireflies are sometimes revealed, glowing with chemical light. Although sightings vary, a nightwalk with Mason's experienced guides is always exciting and necessities such as flashlights,

raincoats and repellent are supplied as needed. Note that wildlife sightings are not guaranteed.

The Half Day Waterfall Four Wheel Drive Safari

Drive the famous and controversial Bloomfield Track from Cape Tribulation to the 40 metre Bloomfield Falls with Mason's Tours in a well-equipped air-conditioned Toyota Landcruiser Four Wheel Drive. Plenty of time is allowed so you can get out of the Four Wheel Drive and experience the area. There is so much to see along this section of coast including the Giant Strangler Fig at Emmagen Valley, spectacular Donovan's Lookout, remote Cowie Beach, the picturesque rivers and or course Bloomfield Falls. Along the way you will stop and enjoy a delicious homemade morning tea and perhaps a swim at a waterhole at the Woobadda River. The Full Day Cooktown Four Wheel Drive Safari

Historic Cooktown is a special place; Cook repaired the Endeavour here for 47 days, after colliding with the Great Barrier Reef. Mason's Full Day Safari is a great way to experience not only Cooktown, but also interesting sites along the way. See mysterious Black Mountain, rustic Lion's Den Hotel, and Grassy Hill's 360-degree panorama. Lunch is included and afterwards, you will have at least two hours to explore the town. At your own cost, you can visit the James Cook Museum, The Old Bank, or Nature's Powerhouse. Come and see Cooktown and some of the historic Far North.

The Two Hour Day Walk

Join your local guide for a walk on real jungle trails on Mason's private reserve adjacent to The Daintree National Park. See big buttressed trees and superb forest while on a two and a half kilometre walk. Your guide will explain some of the secrets of the forest in simple language and questions are welcome. Topics covered include history, ecology and culture, and where possible they encourage people to smell, touch and taste as a means of experiencing. Walks depart twice daily. Booking is advised.
