Description
The richest freshwater fishing event in Queensland is back with three days of non-stop action! Hosted at picturesque Lake Moondarra, Mount Isa the 2012 Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic promises a weekend packed with fun and excitement for all ages.
Activities commence October 25 with the inaugural special guest slide show, followed by action at the Lake from noon Friday, 26 October; fishing from 6.00 p.m. Action wraps up Sunday, 28 October with the awards presentation, complete with entertainment and the drawing of the Boat Raffle.
Packed into three days will also be special guests, a record prize pool, including a whopping AUD50,000 up for grabs for the angler who snags the infamous Tagged Barra, 30 prize categories and a host of entertainment including a Fireworks Spectacular, Dragon Boat Regatta, beach volleyball, yabby races, casting competitions, live bands, kids activities, and more!

For the children there are yabby races, children nominations and award categories, jumping castles, face painting, casting competitions and much more.

Nominations will be available online, in person at supporting businesses from August and at the event from 12 noon Friday 26 October.
Nominations are available for adults and juniors (15 years old and under).
The categories for this year's event are: Junior Male and Female Secret Weight Winner and Runner Up; Senior Male and Female Secret Weight Winner and Runner Up; Mystery Weight Archer Fish; Mystery Weight Barra; Mystery Weight Catfish; Mystery Weight Longtom; Mystery Weight Sleepy Cod; Mystery Weight Sooty Grunter; Junior and Senior Overall Mystery Weights; Heaviest Archer Fish Heaviest Catfish; Heaviest Longtom; Heaviest Sleepy Cod; Heaviest Sooty Grunter and Runner up; Heaviest Barra and Runner up; Heaviest Perch (Junior only); Champion Junior Yabby Catcher; Family Prize; Champion Junior and Senior Anglers; Lucky Junior and Senior Nominations, and; Champion Team.
Prizes include the infamous AUD50,000 Tagged Barra plus thousands of dollars in Prizes, Trophies and Cash up for grabs.
How To Get There:
The Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic will be held at Black Rock, Lake Moondarra, located 15 kilometres north of Mount Isa.
Mount Isa is located 200 kilometres from the Northern Territory border and 1,829 kilometres from Queensland's capital, Brisbane. The nearest major city, Townsville, can be found 883 kilometres from city.
It is accessed by regular bus and rail travel, self-drive in everyday conventional vehicles or direct flights from Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin and the Gold Coast.

Admission costs apply only to fishing nominated competitors. Admission for additional activities and spectators is a Gold Coin Donation at the gate, proceeds going to the Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group Inc.
