Description
Eagleby Wetland Reserve, a re-claimed wetland around a water treatment plant on the Albert River, is located between the Logan and Albert Rivers on the Gold Coast. The Wetlands feature varied bird habitats such as melaleuca and brackish swamps, freshwater lakes, woodlands, cane fields and open grassland.
203 Australian native bird species have been recorded in the Reserve, including 17 of the 24 Australian Raptors, and almost half of the species found in Queensland. The Eagleby Wetland Reserve is a popular birding location.
... moreThe Eagleby Wetlands Conservation Reserves are made up of a total of 10 reserves covering an area of 45 hectares. The largest of these reserves, 20 hectares, the Eagleby Wetlands is part of Oliver Sports Complex. The remaining reserves in the flood plain are public open space contributions from past developments.
