The Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mount Coot-tha are Queensland's premier subtropical botanic gardens. These 52 hectare gardens are situated seven kilometres from the city centre, and offer a variety of environments and natural wildlife.
The Botanic Gardens are open every day, and entry to the gardens is free. Visitors can enjoy free guided tours Monday to Saturday at 11.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. (public holidays excluded). Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha features Japanese Gardens and a Freedom Wall monument; The Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium is also located on the grounds.

Children:
Children are welcome throughout the Gardens, but close supervision is recommended near the lagoons and other water features. Close supervision is also requested in the Bonsai House.
Disabled:
Disabled parking is available and access for the frail or disabled is possible to most areas. The Brisbane Mobility Map, available from the Administration Building, gives detailed access information. On weekdays from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m., vehicles are permitted to drive through the Gardens. Disabled toilets are located in the Administration Building and in other locations throughout the Gardens.

General Comments
No bikes, scooters, or roller blades are permitted within the Gardens. To protect the plant collections, barbecues and ball games are also prohibited.
How To Get There
By public and private transportation. The Gardens are located seven kilometres from the Central Business District in the suburb of Toowong. Follow signs from the City for Toowong and then road signs indicating the Botanic Gardens and Planetarium.
