Description

Mikat Whale Cruises takes place on The Mikat. The Mikat is a 20 metre ocean going catamaran that will handle the generally calm waters of Hervey Bay with ease, comfort, stability and safety. The experienced crew have been operating whale watching cruises in Hervey Bay since 1987. Mikat was fully refitted in early 2010.

Mikat offers two superb viewing decks - great for photographs and videos.

Mikat is fully licensed and we include a free buffet lunch. Sightings are guaranteed or you receive a free return trip. Weather permitting they use an underwater camera and hydrophone to keep you up to date with all the action. Daily DVD of your cruise is also available for purchase.

Whale Watching Cruise

Your whale watch cruise will depart at 9.00 a.m. sharp so settle back and relax as the MV Mikat takes you to Moon Point on Fraser Island where you will enter the Hervey Bay Marine Park to enjoy more time with the Humpback Whales.

There are more whales to see and more behaviour patterns to enjoy. Breaching, spy-hopping, tail and pec-slapping and the very popular socialising, when some whales become as inquisitive about us as we are about these gentle giants from the Antarctic. The playful dolphins riding the bow-wave or interacting with the whales are an added bonus.
