Description

Koorana Crocodile Farm is a commercially operated crocodile farm and restaurant located half an hour drive from Rockhampton or Yeppoon.

Gates open at 10.00 a.m. and fully guided tours are conducted daily at 10.30 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. with lunch being served in the restaurant between 12.00 p.m. - 1.00 p.m.

Crocodiles hatching can be seen from March to May. Koorana has 3000 crocodiles. Last entry to farm is 2.00 p.m. and gates close at 3.00 p.m.

The restaurant serves crocodile meat dishes as well as standard meals. Crocodile skin products are available including wallets, belts and clothing. Most crocodile leather accessories are Australian made and are sold at farm gate prices with CITES permits for export. Visitors have the opportunity to

touch and hold a specially trained crocodile. No charge for photography.

Also offered for group bookings or social functions are Spotlight Dinner Tours - minimum of 20.

There are disabled facilities available.

Pets Allowed:
Yes. Sorry no pets allowed. Pets may not be left unrestrained at the Farm. If dogs need to be out of a vehicle they must be restrained and the vehicle must be parked outside the perimeter security fence to the Farm.

Further Details:
Koorana focuses on public education on crocs so the tours are full of information for those travelling north deeper into croc country. Discussions on crocodile behaviour and people behaviour in crocodile country highlight the need to know about natures oldest children. Crocodiles as large as 850 kg and as small as 100 grams can be seen on the tour.

How To Get There:
If travelling north or south the Emu Park turnoff from the main highway should be taken.(Lakes Creek Road.) 29 kilometres toward Emu Park turn right along Coowonga Road and follow signs - five kilometres to Koorana
