Britz reserves the right to charge for any speeding, parking or tollway fines, associated administration costs and/or accidents including third party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle. The administration fee per fine will be AUD60.00

Service Information:
Should a hirer have more than one rental (multiple rentals) then these rentals can be combined to qualify the hirer for the long term rate. Campervan and car rentals in Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa, for both Britz and Maui, can be combined to qualify if travel is within a three month period. (For example, one 14 day rental plus one seven day rental qualifies for the 21 day rate).For pick ups and drop offs on the same day, the daily rental charge for the last day of the first rental will be charged, and the daily charge for the first day of the subsequent rental will not be charged. This will also apply to the Excess Reduction charge. The One Way Fee (if applicable) and charges for additional hire equipment (tables, chairs, baby seats) and additional extras will be charged per vehicle rental.

Tariff Information:
Rates indicated above are a guide only, and change on a week to week basis. Please contact the operator for details. Information bases on travel from 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2011.
Late returns will be charged on a per day basis.

Cancellation Information:
If cancelled up to 22 days prior to pick-up, there will be no fee incurred. If cancelled from 21 to seven days prior to pick-up there will be a 20 per cent of Gross Rental fee. If cancelled six to one days prior to pick-up there will be a 50 per cent of Gross Rental fee. If cancelled on day of pick up or No show there will be a 100 per cent of Gross Rental fee. If vehicle is returned early for any reason whatsoever there is no refund available for the unused days.

Restrictions:
Minimum Hire Periods: Rookie: three days (calendar day basis) Campervans: five days (calendar day basis). All hires between 15 December 2009 and 5 January 2010, plus Explorer, Escape and Frontier rentals from Sydney between 28 September and 5 October and Melbourne between 5 October and 10 October require a minimum hire of seven days. Four wheel drive Rental Cars: five days (24-hour basis). One-Way Hires: One way hires are available between all branch locations (one way rentals into Tasmania for all four wheel drives vehicles on request). A minimum rental period of seven days, plus a fee of AU250.00 applies where pick up and return is from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart or Adelaide. Should the hire pick up or return be from Darwin, Broome, Alice Springs or Perth, the one-way fee will be AUD350.00, with a minimum hire of seven days.

Two wheel drive campervans can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads. The only exceptions to this are well-maintained access roads to recognised campgrounds and well-maintained, recognised roads on Kangaroo Island (South Australia).
Four wheel drive campervans and cars can also be driven on recognised unsealed roads.
Four wheel drive vehicles may only travel to the following areas with the written permission of Britz (please contact the local branch for further information): Simpson Desert, Strzelecki Track, Gunbarrel Highway, Cape York, the Bungle Bungles, Oodnadatta Track, Birdsville Track, Tanami Track, the Plenty Highway and Gibb River Road.
Vehicles are not permitted to travel on the Canning Stock Route, the Lost City in Litchfield Park, the Old Gunbarrel Highway and the Telegraph section of the road to Cape York at any time.
Vehicles are not permitted to travel to Cape York between the months of December to May.
Britz reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions, and the distance to nominated destinations in relation to the length of the hire period.

Britz HiTop

The HiTop is the cheapest campervan in the Britz range. It's cute and compact but still features basic facilities such as a fridge, gas stove and microwave. The HiTop is great for a couple on a cruising trip up the coast.

For a couple wanting a bit more room the Explorer is the way to go. Featuring all the facilities of the Elite, the Explorer has two double beds which means you can use the roof canopy bed, leaving dining area permanently set-up. Great for families too.
