Description
Hervey Bay Whale Festival is 'Cause for Celebration'. Marking the annual return of the majestic Humpback Whale to its protected shores the community of Hervey Bay comes alive for the Fraser Coast's premier festival. Raising awareness of the plight of the Humpback Whale while celebrating its contribution to the community, the festival is a delightful mix for everyone.
Join the Illumination Parade extravaganza which shimmers along the esplanade, where entrants light up the sky with colourful, amazing and sometimes crazy creations. Wander 'Ocean of Fun', dedicated to little kids and big kids at heart with round the clock stage shows, workshops and activities all the while listening to the 'Whale Aid Concert' soundtrack - 10 hours of awesome live original music from an all Australian line up.
Teenagers can revel in carnival rides at side show alley, and mum and dad can relax wandering through the myriad of market stalls.

How To Get There:
Hervey Bay is located approximately three and a half hours drive north of Brisbane via the Bruce Highway. Take Hervey Bay exit from Bruce Highway and follow Maryborough/Hervey Bay Road to first round-a-bout and take second exit onto Boat Harbour Drive. Follow Boat Harbour Drive to third round-a-bout and turn left into Main Street. Follow to Esplanade round-a-bout. Take fourth exit off round-a-bout to Seafront Oval.
Virgin Blue operate direct jet services from Sydney to the Fraser Coast, with convenient connections from most Australian capital cities. QantasLink has several daily flights from Brisbane to Hervey Bay.
