Description

The River Rock to Mountain Top Community Festival celebrates the natural and man-made attributes of the Pioneer Valley and Eungella. Over 16 days, the festival presents sub-events which appeal to every age group.

Beginning with the Mirani Rotary Tagalong Charity Horse Ride and Bush Carnival and concluding on Mother's Day, the festival includes an Artists' Trail, golf tournament, fishing competition, bullarama, markets, art and craft workshops, Wintermoon Folk festival, theatre performance and the spectacular Lantern Parade and free family entertainment.

In addition to the events, visitors can experience Eungella National Park - camping, rainforest walks and platypus viewing. All this is available less than one hours drive west of Mackay, Queensland.

Children are welcome. The festival is designed for families to enjoy together. Some sub-events such as the fishing competition have junior entry categories.

Most sub-events cater for disabled access.

Pets Allowed:
Yes. Restrictions apply to pets in the National Park, accommodation and some events. Contact event coordinator for details.

How To Get There

The Pioneer Valley is located west of Mackay in Central Queensland. Travel six and a half kilometres along the Peak Downs Highway from Mackay. Turn right onto the Mackay Eungella Road and travel 26 kilometres passing through Pleystowe and Marian townships to arrive at Mirani. Information is available at Melba House Visitor Information Centre.
