Description

It's 1965 and everything is about to happen. The German/British collective Gob Squad invites you to take the hand of the King of Pop Art himself, Andy Warhol, and step into the underground cinemas of New York City, where it all began.

Gob Squad's Kitchen reconstructs Warhol's films to illuminate the past for a new generation, reflecting on the nature of authenticity, the here and now, and the hidden depths beneath the shiny surfaces of modern life.

... more

The original screenplay for Andy Warhol's film Kitchen was written by Ronald Tavel.

Gob Squad is an internationally renowned artist collective from Germany/UK known for merging film and theatre in a performance style that captures the beauty of the everyday. The company's last show in Brisbane, Super Night Shot, sold out during World Theatre Festival 2011.
