The Golden Mount Festival is a historic event that has been running since 1977 (officially). Traditionally the festival is held over three day's during the May Labour day long weekend and is a celebration of the Mount Morgan Community and its rich history.
The Golden Mount Festival will still be held in May, but will start on Friday afternoon/evening kicking off the festivities at the Mount Morgan Dam, with something special being planned. Saturday is the main festival day which includes various entertainment, street market, procession, Dig 4 Gold Competition and the famous 'Running of the Cutter'. Sunday the Golden Mount Festival Rodeo is held at Newman Oval this is a CRCA registered event.
Rides and entertainment is available for children of all ages.

Yes. Yes pets are allowed however they must be on a leash at all times and are only allowed on Saturday and Monday. No animals other than Rodeo Competitors animals and aide animals are allowed into the Rodeo.
The mine produced 238,979 kilograms of Gold, 54,535 kilograms of silver, 360,000 tonnes of copper and was responsible for the wealth that led to the creation of British Petroleum (BP). Mount Morgan is situated 35 kilometres south west of Rockhampton and is a picturesque historic town in a mountain setting.
Entry cost is not applied to Saturday and Monday. Admission cost applies to the Rodeo entry.
