Description
The Darling Downs Zoo is situated in a beautiful rural setting on the eastern Downs - midway between Toowoomba and Warwick - just over two hour's drive from the Brisbane Central Business District.
This new zoo is being developed in a garden format centred on the geographical areas of Australia, South-east Asia, Africa and South America.
... moreAlready the zoo features the only pride of African Lions in south-east Queensland, baboons, monkeys, marmosets, tropical birds, kangaroos and white wallabies, camel, deer, crocodiles and alligator, boa constrictors, the world's most venomous snakes, pythons and much, much more. The zoo is also home to the only white lions living permanently in Queensland!
The zoo is open to the public from 9.00 a.m. six days a week. It is closed on Tuesdays - except for the Queensland state school holidays when it is open every day. It is closed on Christmas Day.
Picnic facilities are available, there is a kiosk and gift shop with EFTPOS and free parking for all vehicles including coaches and caravans. The entire zoo is wheelchair friendly.

Due to quarantine and licensing regulations no pets or companion animals are allowed.
How To Get There
There is no public transport to the Darling Downs Zoo.
From Toowoomba take the New England Highway (A3) south for 45 minutes then turn left where signed.
From Warwick take the New England Highway (A3) north for 40 minutes then turn right where signed.
From Brisbane take the Gatton exit from the Warrego Highway, proceed through Gatton and turn left into the Gatton-Clifton Road four kilometres west of Gatton. The zoo is located exactly 50 kilometres along this road on the corner of Gatton-Clifton Road and Baines Road, Pilton.
