Located in the heart of the Darling Downs, Jondaryan Woolshed is of great historical interest. Easily accessible on a day trip from all parts of south-east Queensland, Jondaryan Woolshed is of particular interest to people fascinated by rural heritage. The attraction features historic buildings, machinery, equipment and collections which have been obtained and restored over the past 30 years. Jondaryan Woolshed is also the base for tours of modern farming on the fertile and diverse Darling Downs, including grain growing, cotton, dairying, cattle, alpacas, pigs, goats and others.

Jondaryan Woolshed is the centrepiece of Jondaryan Woolshed, Open Air Working Museum, which was established in 1975 to show-case the history of Jondaryan Station and its role in the development of pastoralism on the Darling Downs. Jondaryan Woolshed and Open Air Working Museum is located three kilometres south of the Warrego Highway at Jondaryan - an easy 45 kilometre drive west of Toowoomba over the Great Dividing Range. It is only two and a half hours drive from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. Self contained accommodation is available on-site at the Shearer's Quarters. Motorhomes and caravans are most welcome.

Every Day you can enjoy demonstrations of shearing in the woolshed, and often there will be other activities and demonstrations such as working horses, wagon rides, blacksmithing, wool spinning, and machinery demonstrations, depending on availability of volunteer demonstrators. These activities and demonstrations start at 10.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.

Restrictions:
All buildings are non-smoking due to age of buildings. However, the complex covers approximately eight acres and provides ample outdoor space for smokers.

Further Details:
Several kinds of basic accommodation are available at Jondaryan Woolshed -- self contained cottages, cabins, original shearers' quarters, caravans and camping sites. Admission to the attraction is additional but only charged once if you are staying for longer than one night. Catering can be provided, or cook your own meals in the shearers cookhouse kitchen. Other facilities include toilets and showers and laundry. We offer reasonably priced & pet friendly accommodation.
The Shearers' Quarters offer bring-your-own-swag-style accommodation. The Shearers' Quarters feature a sawdust-floored cookhouse with an open fire, wood stoves, crockery, cutlery, utensils, fridges, hot and cold showers, and toilets. Catering is available as required. A self-contained twin share cottage and Family Cottage sleeping 5 is also available, complete with ensuite and kitchenette.

How To Get There:
The Jondaryan Woolshed is located approximately three kilometres off the Warrego Highway at Jondaryan. Jondaryan is located approximately halfway between Toowoomba and Dalby, and is well sign posted.
