Located in the heart of the Darling Downs, Jondaryan Woolshed is of great historical interest. Easily accessible on a day trip from all parts of south-east Queensland, Jondaryan Woolshed is of particular interest to people fascinated by rural heritage. The attraction features historic buildings, machinery, equipment and collections which have been obtained and restored over the past 30 years. Jondaryan Woolshed is also the base for tours of modern farming on the fertile and diverse Darling Downs, including grain growing, cotton, dairying, cattle, alpacas, pigs, goats and others.
Jondaryan Woolshed is the centrepiece of Jondaryan Woolshed, Open Air Working Museum, which was established in 1975 to show-case the history of Jondaryan Station and its role in the development of pastoralism on the Darling Downs. Jondaryan Woolshed and Open Air Working Museum is located three kilometres south of the Warrego Highway at Jondaryan - an easy 45 kilometre drive west of Toowoomba over the Great Dividing Range. It is only two and a half hours drive from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. Self contained accommodation is available on-site at the Shearer's Quarters. Motorhomes and caravans are most welcome.
