Description

The Great Western Hotel is one of Australia's most renowned and iconic hotels. Established in 1862, the Great Western Hotel is one of Queensland's oldest hotels. Developed as a national tourist destination, the Great Western Hotel pays tribute to contemporary Australian bush culture and boasts its own indoor rodeo area, making it the only hotel in Australia, and one of only two in the world, with its own indoor rodeo arena.

The Nissan Navara Arena is a multi-faceted Entertainment Centre with seating for up to 2,500 people, making it one the largest indoor entertainment venues in regional Australia. The hotel features five bars, a steakhouse restaurant, gaming saloon and retail outlet. Bullriding is held at the venue most Wednesday and Friday nights also once a month on a Saturday Night. The Nissan Navara Arena also accommodates many artists with the likes of Keith Urban, Lee Kernaghan and John Butler Trio.

Children are allowed in dining area and in the arena. However children must be accompanied by an adult and must be off premises at 10.00 p.m. or 30 minutes after the function has finished.

Disabled:
The Great Western Hotel have a disabled toilet and access into the hotel.

Gaming Room - The Great Western Hotel's hospitality extends into the Poker Saloon, where tea, coffee and snacks are provided. Have a flutter in their twenty-six machine gaming room or try your luck at the jackpot link.

Bullriding - Boasting one of the largest indoor arenas in Australia, The Great Western Hotel is unique hosting a full array of Rodeo Events. The arena is a popular location when the Professional Bull Riders display their spectacular talent. Larry Bumble Bee Barron, champion Rodeo Clown, is a colourful character that performs daredevil stunts that keep the crowd on the edge of their seats.
The Great Western Hotel Nissan Navara Arena has development programs to help the younger generation cowboys improve their abilities and make it to the Professional bullrider rankings. With the Help of Paul Archer "The Good Guys" they hold schools which enable the young up and coming cowboys to develop their skills and learn how to ride in a safe and controlled environment. Their mentor and trainer keeps a close watch over these young competitors ensuring the stock supplied is matched to their capabilities. The Young Guns series attracts a wide age group with the youngest being four and the oldest 32. These young cowboys learning how to ride enjoy great success at their new sport.
Practice Bullrides every Wednesday and Friday Night in the Nissan Navara Arena At The Great Western Hotel.
