The solidly constructed and quite picturesque tongue and groove Post Office building turned 100 years old in December 2009.
This building offers full Australia Post services, Rural Transaction Centre, Library, public-use computers, internet, photocopying, faxing facilities and a comprehensive gift shop. In April 2010 the Post Office will celebrate the centenary of the first motor mail delivery in the Commonwealth of Australia, which took place between Ilfracombe and Isisford.
2010 is the year for centenary celebrations, as in January 1910 the first telephonic facilities were opened at the Post Office and in December 1910 a telephone exchange was opened.
