Description
The old Eureka Hotel built in 1865 was once the local watering hole and overnight accommodation for bullock teams and Cobb and Co Coaches en route to the Gold Fields. This historic split log inn - the oldest known building in North Queensland, has been lovingly transformed back to its former glory to once again provide scrumptious meals and a warm welcome to locals and visitors alike.
... moreJust 40 minutes west of the Townsville Central Business District, set on 25 acres, they offer all day breakfast, prize winning scones, cakes and light lunches - all baked fresh on premises. It still has the original raw timber slab walls giving the interior an earthy feel. Feast your senses on the rarest and most expensive coffee on earth, Kopi Luwak which sells for AUD50 per cup.
Dine on the verandah or in the shady garden followed by a walk along the quiet tracks. With such diverse history under its roof, it is no surprise to find out the Tea Rooms have a resident ghost!

How To Get There:
Follow Hervey's Range Development Road 32 kilometres from Willows Shopping Centre. Up the range past the lookout to the first bitumen road on the right. Turn here and approximately 400 metres on the left is the Tea Rooms.
