Description

Cairns City's only centrally located wildlife park will soon be, Cairns ZOOm, the world's first Challenge Ropes Course in a wildlife immersion exhibit, adding an adventurous new dimension to the existing Cairns Wildlife Dome.

Situated on the roof of the Reef Hotel Casino, the Cairns ZOOm will consist of ropes courses, zip lines, walkways and lifts at different heights within the Dome, allowing visitors to appreciate and be educated about the native fauna whilst interacting with birds in an exhilarating experience.

The new attraction will open in late October 2011, and feature over 20 crossings and five zip lines named after unique Australian fauna, providing information and a challenge based on an ability of that animal.

One zip line will take participants over the top of Goliath, a four metre saltwater crocodile, in complete safety, with the perceived danger making it a thrilling ride for the participant. You will also be able to walk along internal and external walkways with a unique birds-eye view of the internal layout of the Dome, as well as a spectacular view of the city and surrounding land and seascapes.

How To Get There:
Cairns Wildlife Dome is situated on top of the Reef Hotel Casino, corner of Wharf and Abbott Streets in the heart of Cairns. Entry via the lifts in the foyer of the Casino.
