Clear a space in your diary...the dates have been set for Brisbane's inaugural Irish Festival, a Gaelic extravaganza. Tipped to be a week to remember, the Brisbane Irish Festival is a must for anyone with even an ounce of Irish Blood. Celebrating Irish culture and heritage, the festival will see a jam packed programme of events taking place across the city. From traditional to contemporary, the festival offers something for all ages.
Highlights from the Brisbane Irish Festival will include the St Patrick's Day Parade and Fair. The Fair will take place at King George Square. Gaelic sports festival, an Irish Trivia Night, an Irish Film Night, a food fair, a TradFest, the Saint Patrick's Eve Dinner and stacks of ceol agus craic with music and dancing in venues across Brisbane.

Children:
The St Patricks's Day Parade and Fair on Saturday 10 March from 10.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. is a free family community event. Activities for children include free face painting, a jumping castle and Arts and Crafts. On Wednesday 14 March as part of the festival a children's Irish Film will run at Tribal Theatre 346 George Street, Brisbane from 4.00 p.m. at a cost of AUD8.00 per ticket.

How To Get There:
Due to the limited parking in Brisbane' s Central Business District it is recommended that public transport is taken to the parade and Fair Central Station is located less than 500 metres away from King George Square.

Friday 9 March 2012 will be the St Patrick's Ball (festival launch).
Saturday 10 March 2012 will be the Brisbane St Patrick's Day Parade and Irish Fair which starts at 10.30 a.m. and goes until 2.00 p.m.
On Sunday 11 March 2012 the St Patrick's Festival Willawong will be held which is the Family Sports Day.
On Monday 12 March 2012 will be the Irish Trivia Night.
Tuesday 13 March 2012 is the Rose of Tralee Fashion Parade.
Wednesday 14 March 2012 is the Irish Film Night which starts at 4.00 p.m.
Thursday 15 March 2012 holds the Brisbane Traditional Irish Music Concert.
Friday 16 March 2012 will be the 114th Annual St Patrick's Eve Dinner.
Saturday 17 March 2012 (St Patrick's Day) will be the Spirit of Ireland Festival at QPAC.
