Bellthorpe National Park is at the southern end of the Conondale Range. Untouched bush land with rainforest, waterfalls and attractive creeks is home to 600 identified plant species and a haven for many endangered and threatened animals. Picnic beside a rock pool at the Stoney Creek day-use area. Look for frogs around the rock pools. Identify the many forest birds. There are no formal walking tracks. You may walk along the forest roads but some are steep, so talk to rangers before bushwalking. Permits are required for mountain bike riding, four wheel driving and motorcycle touring.
