Description

The Valley Rattler operates steam train tours through the Mary Valley every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and a Railmotor tour every Tuesday morning. The Rattler's journey begins at Gympie Railway Station which was built in 1913.

Full Day steam tours depart every Wednesday and Sunday. The steam train departs Gympie at 1000. The first stop is at Kandanga Station where there are arts and craft stalls, then onto Imbil for lunch. On the return journey the train stops at Dagun Station to savour local wines and cheeses. The train arrives back at Gympie at 1530 on Wednesdays and 1600 on Sundays.

Half day steam tours depart every Saturday and travel to Amamoor and Dagun Stations. Admire the station buildings, restored to capture the original character. Enjoy arts and crafts, wine and cheese tastings and markets. The morning tour departs Gympie at 0930 and returns at 1215. The afternoon tour includes Growers Market and departs Gympie at 1345 and returns at 1645. An 1130 tour from Dagun Station is available.

The Red Rocket Railmotor departs every Tuesday morning at 0930 and returns at 1130. It travels to Amamoor Station where you have time for morning tea.

Disabled:
Their Saturday afternoon service is suited to wheelchair bound passengers who are able to stand and move a few steps. Not available for fully wheelchair bound persons as yet.

Yes. Pets allowed by prior arrangement.

Cancellation Information:
Full refund if cancelled 24 hours in advance. 50 per cent cancellation fee if cancelled on day of travel. Nil refund in the event of a no show.

The Valley Rattler operates heritage steam train and rail motor journeys through the scenic Mary Valley. Special themed trips are held at various times throughout the year and are full of entertainment. Please check the operator's web site for information.

How To Get There:
The Valley Rattler is located at the historic Old Gympie Railway Station, Tozer Street, Gympie. To get to The Valley Rattler venue, simply follow the directional road signs when entering Gympie from either the north or from the south of the Bruce Highway. Gympie is situated one hour to one hour twenty north of the Sunshine Coast, two hours north of central Brisbane, and one hour south of the Fraser Coast.
