Description

The Bayton Award, a biennial non-acquisitive prize open to all forms of art media, celebrating the diversity and excitement of visual arts in the Central Queensland region offers AUD11,500 in total prizes including cash prizes, an artist in residency opportunity and a People's choice award.

The award is open to artists residing in the following regions and shires: Rockhampton, Gladstone, Banana, Woorabinda, Central Highlands, Isaac, Barcaldine, Blackall-Tambo, Longreach, Winton, Barcoo, Diamantina and Boulia. The Bayton Award, sponsored by Rockhampton Art Gallery Trust, recognises the contribution made by Bishop Bayton to the acquisition of significant artworks now held in the collection.
