Visitors are guided through the Telstra Museum Brisbane by ex PMG employees who worked with the equipment during their telecommunication career. Several exhibits are 'hands on' with working manual and automatic phone exchanges, Morse code sets and working pairs of teleprinters (TELEX machines).
Follow the telecommunications evolution from morse code to today's advanced telephone systems. Historic photographs are also on display.
Children are welcome.
Group tours welcome by prior arrangement.
Located at Clayfield, the Museum is located approximately 25 minutes drive from Brisbane City. Public transport is also available - visit Translink for more information.
There is a bus stop at the door, and restaurants nearby.
Visitors are encouraged to successfully send their full name in Morse code to one of their qualified telegraphists, then, upon payment of AUD1 receive a most attractive certificate commemorating this outstanding achievement.
