Rubyvale Gem Gallery is a small family business established in 1988, and now situated in their brand new shop on Main Street in Rubyvale. For over 30 years Peter Brown has been mining and cutting the local sapphires, and setting them in uniquely designed jewellery. He is recognised as a sapphire specialist and one of the best gem cutters on the Gemfields today.

How To Get There
You will find Rubyvale Gem Gallery right in the heart of Rubyvale, which is 60 kilometres west of Emerald. From the turn-off on the Capricorn Highway, just follow the signs to Rubyvale. As you come down the hill and veer left into the town you will see the distinctive boulder and timber building on the immediate left which is Rubyvale Gem Gallery and Rubyvale Cafe.

Closed Christmas and Boxing Days, New Years Day and Good Friday.
Weather
Perfect weather for fossicking is common in winter months with daytime temperatures reaching the mid 20 degrees. Luckily air-conditioning keeps everyone comfortable in the warmer summer months.
