The October Moon Festival is a day of music, fun, more music, races, more fun and finally an evening beside the beautiful Lake Fred Tritton of music music music. Jazz under a full moon and the great northern starry sky is an experience not to be missed.
Set in the North Queensland outback town of Richmond, the usually quiet town, known for its fantastic Kronosaurus Museum and Fossil findings, attracts a returning crowd of friendly faces to listen to the unique sounds of Jazz and soak up the lakeside atmosphere and wonderful hospitality of the annual October Moon Festival.

Kids World operates in the evening, with television/DVD, games, treats and supervised by babysitters.
Disabled:
Access via a path, there is also a disabled toilet nearby to the lake that has disabled access.
How To Get There
Richmond is 500 kilometres west of Townsville. As you drive into town from Hughenden, the lake is on the right hand side for the evening event and if you go straight ahead the race-course is on the northern side of town. Signs are on display throughout the festival.
A courtesy bus operates all day and night throughout town to escort festival-goers between their accommodation, the race course and the lake. There is a range of accommodation and activities to enjoy while you are in Richmond.
