A Rockhampton Art Gallery exhibition. Central Queensland printmaker Michele Kershaw explores the visual affects that can be achieved through fine linear detailing and subtle shifts in tone. By incorporating many influences from her earlier textiles background, but also her interest in the natural world, Kershaw creates works on paper that feature delicate layers of textures from impressions of lace, leaves and wood grains.
... moreOver the last decade, Kershaw has continued to experiment with a dynamic mix of materials to achieve new effects. The printing plate - metal, linoleum, wood and more recently plastics - have also become a feature of her work. Always feminine, and occasionally quirky, this exhibition showcases a selection of work that spans Kershaw's printmaking practice.
