Disabled:
There is access for guests with a disability. There is wheel chair access from the reception area, across the Aerial Walkway to the Interpretive Display Centre and the base of the Canopy Tower. Special drop off area in car park for guests with a disability.

Other Facilities:
Whether you are with a pre-organised tour group of travelling independently there is a wealth of things to see and do. One popular option is to do a self-guided walk using their world-class audio guides, available in six languages - English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Japanese.

This rainforest attraction is located 10 kilometres north of the Daintree River Ferry. The world-class interpretive facility has Advanced Ecotourism Accreditation and is recognised as a world leader in eco-tourism. The fantastic 23 metre high Canopy Tower and Aerial Walkway are essential viewing. Audio Guides are available in eight languages - English, Cantonese, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Spanish and Mandarin.

With experienced staff, a large indoor interpretive display area, the latest touch screen technology, an audiovisual theatre and sweeping, all weather verandahs, the Centre offers information on birds, butterflies, cassowaries, crocodiles and much more.

The latest interpretive displays focus on growing public interest in all things associated with Global Warming. As part of the Climate Change story, a series of 'mega fauna' are used to show the link between the decline of the pre-historic species and radical changes in the Earth's climate. Visitors can explore these theories via informative displays and a series of DVDs that explain in detail.

The Centre's Carbon Offset/Bio-sequestration project continues and James Cook Uni's Micromet Weather Station which measures climate induced changes in carbon storage now feeds into a display at the Interpretive Centre so visitors can monitor the results in real time.
The Centre an accredited Wet Tropics Visitor Information Centre, has Advanced Eco-Tourism Accreditation and is a Planet Safe Partner.

How To Get There:
A two hour drive north from Cairns or a 60 minute drive north from Port Douglas, the Discovery Centre is 10 kilometres north of the Daintree River Ferry on the way to Cape Tribulation. It is a sealed road all the way - you do not need a four wheel drive.
