Description

The Captain Cook 1770 Festival has been an annual event for 19 years, commemorating the landing of Lieutenant James Cook on 24 May, 1770. The award winning festival is held on the enchanting foreshores of Seventeen Seventy between Bundaberg and Gladstone and caters for the whole family. The re-enactment of Cook landing is a special highlight of the festival along with the street parade, live entertainment, market stalls, art show, children's art space, Indigenous dancing and exciting amusement rides. In the evening there is a fireworks display from the sandbars showering over the beautiful Bustard Bay. What makes the festival so great is the friendly people and relaxing atmosphere.
