Inn to Inn walking holidays are unique to Auswalk in Australia. You walk through national parks, progressing from one accommodation to the next. Your luggage is moved ahead while you walk. You can choose to go with a guide or try a fully supported ""self-guided"" walking holiday. You walk without a guide, following the comprehensive Walk Notes supplied and yes, they move your luggage.

This is ideal for anyone who is hesitant about group travel or wants to travel with their own friends and set their own pace. It's also great for those who are restricted to travelling at a particular time as you can choose your own departure date.

Where else can you stand on top of a mountain and look over hundreds of kilometres of wilderness on a walking holiday tour, or have a pristine beach to yourself?

A guided trip is for those who enjoy the camaraderie of a group, want to meet other like-minded walkers or prefer to walk with a knowledgeable guide. Come with a friend or come alone - you'll soon make new friends.
The rainforest walking in the Daintree and Mission Beach is easy and includes boardwalks, sandy beaches and foot tracks. The opportunity to stretch out comes on the Atherton Tablelands and Dunk Island - the harder options will be quite challenging, with easier walks being offered as well. For those choosing to do the easier options, this is probably one of their easiest walking holidays - great for beginners. Those seeking challenges won't be disappointed though with longer, quite hard walks on offer too.

You should be in reasonable shape, but there's certainly no need to be a triathlete! Full day walks generally involve a total of four to seven hours on the track at a moderate pace and on some days they will do two or three shorter walks.
There are two guides on the Tropical Hiker trip. Auswalk Walking Holidays have designed this itinerary so that nearly every day, one guide can offer a faster, longer or harder walk, while the other guides people on the standard itinerary. So, most people should find options that suit their fitness level.

Tropical Hiker

The Tropical Hiker tour includes Daintree World Heritage Area - where the rainforest meets the reef; learn how the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people lived in the tropical rainforests; unique wildlife - azure Ulysses butterflies, platypus, cassowaries, crocodiles; and then unwind at beautiful Mission Beach - all rooms have ocean views.

This is a circuit trip from Cairns. Destinations include the Atherton Tablelands - home of the famous Millaa Millaa Falls. Rainforest walks will lead you away from the tourist route to remote gorges, cascading waterfalls and secluded lakes. In the Daintree World Heritage Area you'll learn about the importance of mangroves, walk to Cape Tribulation and enjoy a stay at a rainforest retreat. At Mossman Gorge you'll walk with the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people and learn about their bush foods.

Gold Coast Hinterland Self-Guided Inn-to-Inn

The Gold Coast Hinterland Walk includes fantastic hiking in the Lamington and Springbrook National Parks, located inland from the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast is about one hour south of Brisbane.

On this trip you walk from one accommodation to the next while they move your luggage ahead for you. You will walk independently without a guide, using their marked maps and easy-to-follow Walk Notes. You need to form your own group of two or more people and can choose your own starting date.

This is a World Heritage Area where new plants are being found, classified and named even today. Massive strangler figs, ancient Antarctic beech, red cedar, rosewood and booyongs tower overhead whilst hundreds of different species of palms, vines, ferns and orchids flourish beneath.
