Planting lavender began in 1998. In 2001 Peter and Tere planted six acres (12,000 plants) at Liston. The business is based on dried lavender and tourism. Harvesting by hand begins in mid November and still provides sufficient oil for retail. The lavender produced is sold as product in the gift shop. Tere runs the retail outlet and the bed and breakfast while Peter runs the planting and maintenance of the lavender. The area is ideal for growing of Lavender with cold winters, well drained soil and hot summers with low humidity.
There is a great deal of interest in the crop in Queensland and the general public take considerable trouble to visit the farm. The farm is only 15 minutes from Stanthorpe and 56 kilometres from both Warwick and Tenterfield. Visitors have a wide range of activities in the region from wineries to national parks with close proximity to the largest granite rock in Australia, Bald Rock.

Driving from Warwick to Stanthorpe, 17 kilometres to Liston (Mount Lindesay Highway) three kilometres north to the farm gate.
