09 - 11 August
The Xstrata Mount Isa Rotary Rodeo is the largest rodeo in the southern hemisphere, where the romance of the Australian Outback meets the grit of a mining town.
With a packed program of events - saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, bull riding, rope and tie, steer wrestling, team roping, ladies barrel racing and ladies breakaway roping - this year's rodeo is set to be the best yet. Throw in a Mailman Express (horserace), Mardi Gras Street Party, Queen Quest, Best Dressed Premises, live music, show-rides, Fred Brophy's Boxing Tent and you've got one big party.... more
During Rodeo Week, Mount Isa's population swells two-fold with travellers from around the country and overseas to witness the thrills, excitement, raw power and courage that is rodeo.
So saddle up, don your best jeans, shine the spurs and grab a cowboy hat. You're in for one heck of a ride!... less
Children are welcome. However, children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
There is access for guests with a disability.
